Nuclear Pub Quiz @ The Long Hall

After months of lockdown and the return to new normal in Austria and in the VIC community it was possible for UN-NYG members to finally have a face-to-face social event in the form of the inaugural UN-NYG Nuclear Pub Quiz!

The event was hosted at ‘The Long Hall Bar’ (Florianigasse 2, 1080 Wien – near the Vienna Rathaus), open to both UN-NYG members and guests. Attendance reached over 50 participants, organized into nine teams (of up to six) who went head-to-head on the picture, trivia and music rounds with question topics ranging from nuclear scientists to radioactive Simpsons references. The most important question, as with pub quiz tradition, is the team name and special mention goes to ‘Don’t uranium on my parade, have your yellowcake and eat it too’. Competition was tough and after the dust had settled, the scores were very close with three teams tying in second place. Of course there had to be a winning team who went home with the prizes! Congratulations to the winning team: GP.

We hope everybody enjoyed the quiz, a few drinks/food, meeting new people and seeing old friends. It certainly seemed like everyone did! Due to the positive response and popular demand the UN-NYG Pub Quiz will be back later in the year so start preparing now to win prizes and most importantly to have your team immortalized on the UN-NYG website.

Thank you to the ‘The Long Hall Bar’ for hosting, to our quizmasters Reagen and Maxwell for delivering, and to all those who attended for a great evening!
